Digital Mode Band Plan
I like to try and use different digital modes outside of the WSJT-X suite, namely, all of the ones made available in FL-Digi, which is software that has really grown on me and I’m a huge fan of (but, let’s face it, could use a UI update). I’m low-key wild about Olivia and Hellschreiber, for example, and get a kick out of SSTV. However, I often struggle to remember which frequencies to listen to or call CQ on for each mode, since frequencies are not baked into FL-Digi or QSSTV for these modes.
To be honest, I’m a little surprised that no one else appears to have done this since, at least, the early 2010’s, at least not on any ham radio webpage I could find.
Below is what will hopefully be a regularly updated list of frequencies to listen for certain digital modes on. I’m not including those in WSJT-X, like FT8, FT4, etc., as those are hardcoded into the software, and I’m not including JS8 for reasons, WinLink or FreeDV because the frequency depends on the node you’re connecting to and those are baked into the client software, nor VarAC, which I have very mixed feelings about since it’s closed-source, exploits an FCC loophole in that regard, and the whole vibe feels very antithetical to the spirit of amateur radio (1, 2). Plus, in my own experience, VarAC users tend to, perhaps unintentionally, stomp all over the below frequencies, and I enjoy my sour grapes.

- ax.25 300 baud packet (accessible using a software TNC like Direwolf and a program like QtTerm if you’re a Linux dork like me)

- “Packet” as defined by the ARRL for some bands. I deliberately left others out as their band plan website is vague at best.
